n this Getting to Know webCoRE Piston Example video, we will be taking a look at how to setup an Advance HVAC Control piston that will automatically turn off your thermostat when any doors or windows are left open for too long and then automatically return the thermostat’s state once everything is closed. The home automation will also suggest opening a window if the thermostat set temperature could be achieved by simply opening some windows. As a bonus the webCoRE automation will also automatically turn off the thermostat if any smart smoke detectors detect smoke to help prevent the possible spread of smoke or fire.
This piston example can be used with webCoRE running on either Samsung SmartThings or Hubitat Smart Home Hubs.
